The Montseny-Guilleries high is a mountain massif located in Catalonia, northeastern Spain. The higher point is the Turó de l'Home peak, with an altitude of 5,616 feet (1712 meters). The landscape is dominated by dense forests. The Ter river crosses out the area from west to east.
The massif is about 40 kilometers far from Barcelona, wich is connected by aeroplane with most of the European cities.
All around the area you can visit beautiful country villages:
Tavertet, in the northwest part of the massif, situated at the edge of spectaculars red and white cliffs. Typical stone houses and beautiful field views.
Close to it, Rupit and Pruit, historic small villages. The first is located within a canyon excaved in grey sandstones, and the second in a green hill.

El Far (lighthouse) area, view from the west. A good road gives an access to the upper plateau. |
This proximity and good roads makes possible to visit the area in a one-day excursion.
